I have been amazed as I have worked my way through my ‘to do’ list every day and found that I have time to spare. Sure, there are some days when I have to put the computer on … I might be typing crochet patterns, invoicing or working on something special in Photoshop. But when I am done, well … the computer gets turned off!
But what have I done with all that time? I have decluttered cupboards and cabinets, had coffee or lunch with friends, visited my Nana for her 91st birthday, completed a large crochet project, caught up on dishes & laundry, sorted my garage full of junk into ‘keep & sort’ and ‘sell at garage sale’ and sorted my calendar for the rest of the year. I have had meetings with teachers, spent countless hours on the phone with my internet provider, launched my very proper website (click here to visit) and helped the kids with homework tasks. It’s amazing what you can achieve when you walk away from the computer during school hours!
The best part is that it is terribly addictive. The more I achieve, the more I want to clear out, tidy up, organise and clean! So, I challenge you to try it. Are you able to walk away from your computer for a while, set a timer and get some stuff done? Maybe you’ve been putting off a task for a while … like clearing out the kitchen junk drawer, or chucking out socks with holes in the toes. Go on … give it a go! I’d love to hear about your success in the comments below, or over on the Cake & Enemy Facebook page!
