Crafting for Charity

Oncology Pillowcases

Today I hit the sewing machine with a bit of a different project in mind.  This one will not be sold, taught or published … it will be given away.

Patchwork & Stitching magazine are collecting pillowcases for the Oncology Kids Drive.  Simply raid your stash or buy some fun fabrics, follow the instructions in this months magazine, and send them in before the end of the month.

PWS 14-9 button  This is the issue you’re looking for.

I have made mine with fun Dr Seuss print fabric teamed with coordinating homespun.  So far 600 pillowcases have been collected, and I can’t wait to hear how they are received.  Oncology Kids is a charity which distributes pillowcases to children with cancer and their siblings in oncology wards around Australia (and the world) to make their stay in hospital and treatment a little brighter.

If you would like to get involved, grab a copy of Patchwork & Stitching  Vol 14 No 9 and flick straight to page 70 for full details.
